What the 5049 alarm means

The motor driver measured an overcurrent condition; the servo shuts down to protect the power stage. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Epson RC90 / RC700 (EPSON RC+) systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.

Step-by-step field fix

  1. Check the power cable connection and robot internal wiring
  2. Test for short-circuit and earth fault on the power line
  3. Measure motor winding resistance phase to phase and to ground
  4. Replace the motor driver
  5. Replace the DMB if the fault persists with a healthy driver
