What the ES alarm means
An emergency stop is active; high power cannot be enabled and the robot will not move. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Omron SmartController (ACE / Viper / Cobra) systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- Pendant, front-panel or external E-stop pressed
- E-stop circuit wiring open
- E-stop device failed in the open state
Step-by-step field fix
- Release every E-stop: pendant, front panel, cell devices
- Check the external E-stop circuit wiring
- Verify the E-stop loop continuity
- Reset per the controller procedure and enable high power
- If the loop will not close, test each device individually
