What the M# (-1007) alarm means
The maximum allowed torque for the indicated joint motor was applied for longer than the timeout period — the servo treats the joint as stalled and removes power. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Omron SmartController (ACE / Viper / Cobra) systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- Joint physically obstructed (collision, snagged cable, fixture in the path)
- Brake on the joint not releasing
- Payload far above the configured value
- Seized bearing or reducer
Step-by-step field fix
- Check for obstacles and confirm free movement of all joints by hand (with power off and brakes released safely)
- Verify the brake releases when high power is enabled
- Check payload configuration against the real tool
- Turn high power back on and repeat the failed motion at low speed
- If stalling returns with a free joint, test the motor and servo amplifier
