What the ArmPowerRefused alarm means
Pressing arm-power-enable does nothing; the controller refuses because the working mode is reported as remote or invalid. Almost always a mode-selection or configuration problem rather than a hard failure. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Staubli CS8 / CS9 (VAL3) systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- WMS mode selector box damaged or disconnected
- Mode selector contacts worn (no mode LED lights on the pendant)
- arm.cfx corrupt so the cabinet cannot determine a valid mode
- Working mode cable harness fault
Step-by-step field fix
- Check the mode selector box and its cable — damaged selector connectors are a known wear item
- Verify the mode status LEDs on the pendant light according to the selector position
- Repair or replace the mode selector hardware
- If hardware is healthy, check arm.cfx validity (see NoDriveConfiguration)
- After repair, test arm power enable in local/manual mode first
