What the DCBusUV alarm means
Drive axis errors appear at power application before any motion: the DC bus fails its pre-charge, often affecting two axes at once on 4-axis machines because one drive module feeds two motors. - Soft-start/pre-charge circuit failure
- One drive module failed and dragging the shared DC bus down
- Safety chain not closed (blocks the enable handshake)
- WMS pendant not seated or not communicating
Step-by-step field fix
- Confirm the WMS pendant is connected and communicating
- Verify the safety chain is fully closed
- Measure the DC bus voltage during power-up (nominal is around 320-340 V DC on 230 V AC systems)
- Disconnect drives one at a time to isolate a shorted module
- Replace the faulty drive module or pre-charge stage
