What the A.510 alarm means
The servomotor speed exceeded the permitted maximum (about 1.1-1.2 x rated speed); the drive trips to prevent mechanical damage. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Yaskawa DX100 / DX200 / YRC1000 systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- Motor power wiring U/V/W phase order swapped
- Encoder wiring error or noise-corrupted encoder signal
- Position/speed command input too large
- Wrong command input gain setting
- SERVOPACK board fault
Step-by-step field fix
- Verify the U/V/W phase order at the motor connector — wrong phasing is the classic cause at first servo-on
- Inspect encoder cable routing; separate from power cables and check the shield grounding
- Review the motion command values and limits in the program
- Re-teach or re-limit the affected move and retest at low speed
- If the alarm returns at servo-on with correct wiring, replace the SERVOPACK

QCan I clear a Yaskawa A.510 alarm myself?
Sometimes. Work through the step-by-step checks on this page — the first listed cause is what we find most often in the field. If the alarm returns after two attempts, or the fault involves power, brakes or safety circuits, stop and call a qualified robot service engineer.
