What the A.810 alarm means
Both the encoder supply and the battery supply failed, so absolute position data was lost; the axis must be re-referenced (zeroing) before use. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Yaskawa DX100 / DX200 / YRC1000 systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- Dead or missing encoder backup battery
- Battery connector loose or corroded
- Power removed while encoder supply was already down
- Absolute encoder itself faulty
Step-by-step field fix
- Replace the encoder backup battery with a fresh one
- Inspect the battery holder and connector
- Run the absolute-encoder setup/zeroing procedure on the affected axis
- Move each axis to its mechanical scribe mark and verify the zero values
- Replace the encoder/motor if the alarm returns after setup

QWhat does the Yaskawa A.810 alarm mean?
Both the encoder supply and the battery supply failed, so absolute position data was lost; the axis must be re-referenced (zeroing) before use. In field practice it belongs to the encoder & position family of faults.
QCan I clear a Yaskawa A.810 alarm myself?
Sometimes. Work through the step-by-step checks on this page — the first listed cause is what we find most often in the field. If the alarm returns after two attempts, or the fault involves power, brakes or safety circuits, stop and call a qualified robot service engineer.
