What the 10012 alarm means

The controller is in a protective-stop state: the motors-on circuit was opened by a guard stop, E-stop, auto stop or superior stop, or by releasing the enabling device in manual mode. Axes are held by the mechanical brakes and nothing moves until motors are switched on again.   • A safety device on the stop inputs (door, light curtain, PLC stop) opened
  • Switching from automatic to manual mode, which always enters guard stop
  • Released enabling device in manual mode
  • Faulty safety relay or wiring on the stop chain

Step-by-step field fix

  1. Identify which safety device caused the stop from the cell layout and circuit diagram
  2. Close or reset that device
  3. Switch the system back to motors-on from the FlexPendant or PLC
  4. If the state returns instantly, trace the stop-input chain with the circuit diagram
  5. Verify the external safety relay and door switches are healthy
