What the P1001 alarm means
A program run was requested while the controller is in teach mode; Kawasaki P-codes are operation errors — the hardware is fine, the request just does not match the current mode or state. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Kawasaki E / F / C series (AS language) systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- Cycle start pressed with the mode selector still in teach
- External start signal arriving while in teach
- Program not saved/compiled after editing
- Another task already holding the program
Step-by-step field fix
- Switch to repeat/playback mode and retry
- Confirm the mode selector and pendant indication match the intended mode
- Save and check the program before running
- Verify no other task is executing the same program
- If the mode switch itself is unreliable, inspect the mode selector hardware
