What the 50001 alarm means
Communication with an external device over the configured fieldbus/Ethernet interface (Modbus, TCP, PROFINET) failed or timed out. Codes 5xxxx are interface-level events. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on AUBO i-series / C-series (ARCS SDK) systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- Cable or network fault to the external device
- Wrong IP/station address after a network change
- External device offline or rebooting
- Interface configuration changed without updating the partner
Step-by-step field fix
- Ping or otherwise verify the partner device is alive
- Check cables, switches, and connectors
- Confirm IP addresses and station numbers match on both ends
- Restart the interface after correcting settings
- Add timeout handling in the program for flaky partners
