What the E1511 alarm means
The servo-side encoder battery assembly is below the alarm threshold; absolute zero data will be lost when the controller is powered off. This is one of the faults our repair team handles on Kawasaki E / F / C series (AS language) systems — the cause is usually identifiable within the first on-site inspection.
Most common causes
- Battery assembly in the arm has reached end of life
- Robot sat unpowered for a long period
- Battery connector contact resistance
Step-by-step field fix
- Keep the controller powered until batteries are replaced
- Replace the encoder battery assembly in the arm
- Verify joint angle displays against mechanical scribe marks
- If angles are wrong, re-zero the affected joints before auto operation
- Beware: joints may only jog one direction when zero is lost — that is limit protection, not a drive fault
